TP Non-Contact Temperature Sensors

  • Semitec Thermopile, non-contact temperature sensors are classified as MEMS IR Thermopiles. The thermocouples that make up the thermopile absorb IR Radiation from an objects surface and convert that energy to an electrical output in millivolts. The output is directly proportional to the temperature difference between the “hot and “cold” ends of the thermocouples, which is known as the Seebeck effect. Typical applications for thermopiles are: Tympanic thermometers, microwave ovens, and other non-contact temperature measurement applications.
